Optima is brought to you by Profile 22, a British company that is part of the long established Epwin Group. They have built a reputation on products that are trusted on quality and innovation. As a result, Profile 22’s systems are one of the most widely specified in the UK. You can rest assured that any window, door or conservatory made from Profile 22 and installed by Fife Windows & Doors Ltd is one of the most advanced, value for money products available today.

Our system achieves a U-Value of 1.1W/m2k with the addition of a Low E soft coat, Argon gas & warm edge Swiss-spacer bar which we now offer as standard. The Optima suite is extruded from only the highest grade of PVC. It’s a must to make sure any uPVC window frame is extruded using a virgin polymer such as ours to guarantee there will be no discolouration which is something that can occur when using recycled pvc.

Casement

Casement style windows are the by far the most popular style of window we fit. The main reason for this is that they are suitable for windows on the ground floor & on upper floors. Any casement style windows fitted on the ground floor can opened from the bottom or from the side and can be made up with a combination of opening sashes and fixed panes. Any casement windows fitted on upper floors would need to be side opening as the bottom opening style does not comply with fire & cleaning regulations. Because the window opens outward, it will not interfere with any blinds or curtains you may have.

All casement windows are internally beaded and have a 28mm, Low E argon filled double glazed unit. Each opening sash on casement style windows are fitted with a high security espagnolette and all handles are lockable with a key.

Tilt & Turn

Tilt n turn style windows are generally used when replacing windows that are above ground floor level. They can be cleaned easily from inside the property and are also a very good fire escape window. A single opening tilt n turn sash can also be manufactured to sizes that are considerably greater than any of the other styles we offer. The window operates in two different ways. Firstly it tilts inwards slightly at the head of the window for ventilation purposes. Secondly, it opens inward fully, just like a door, for easy cleaning. The only point to note when deciding on this style, when the window opens inward, there may be a possibility it could hit blinds, if there are any, when in the open position.

Fully reversible

Fully reversible windows are suitable for ground floor level although they are generally designed for upper floors. Working on the same principal as the bottom opening casement window, it opens outward for ventilation purposes but has the added feature of a unique hinge system which allows the window to turn inside out, without coming inwards, to allow easy cleaning. This style of window will not interfere with any curtains or blinds as all the motion takes place out with the window frame itself.

Vertical Slider

Sash and case style windows are not as common as the other three window styles we have available. Generally we only fit this style when replacing old wooden sash windows to keep the appearance and character of the property the same, or where the property is situated in a conservation area or is a listed building and the local authorities make them compulsory when replacing. This style of window can be fitted on ground level and on upper floors. They have a facility to fold inwards to allow the windows to be cleaned from the inside.
